National Treasure 2/I Am Legend

i saw what were quite possibly my last two "theater" movies of 2007 yesterday. the parents are still in town (killian flew back a few days ago), so we saw the two in the subject on an overcast day in beach country.

national treasure was a lot less hammy and therefore much better than the first one. i am legend--despite a directing choice i strongly disagreed with regarding how active and physical the infected humans were--was still full of great tension and creativity. i'd say wait on national treasure if you even want to see it at all (yellow light), and to catch i am legend in the theater, if at all (green light).

NT wasn't anything particularly fresh, but it still had some good scenes and the pacing (as you'd expect from a bruckheimer film) was pretty good for a film of that scope. IAL was loaded with cool shots and good CG (again, aside from the humans, but that was more of a director's choice to make them look so cartoonish), and this kind of stuff is made for a big screen and surround sound.

i hope i've written about all the movies i've seen in theaters--i need to do an 07 wrap-up before it's too late!

p.s. louis ck is in a new movie--but don't get too excited...
